Donnatella M. Novello

Donnatella "Nettie" Novello, after a long, full life and a short illness, passed away peacefully in her home in Oak Forest on April 19th, 2016. "Aunt Nettie," as virtually everyone knew her, was born in Chicago to Vincenzo and Josephine (Palmieri) Giusto on January 9, 1919. She proudly owned and operated her own company, the Chicago Tie Factory, in Chicago for over three decades, manufacturing quality men's neckwear. She married Gaetano "Charlie" Novello in 1943 and together they created an elegant home for themselves, first in Chicago and later in Oak Forest, where they moved in the 1970's. They were respected for their hard work but they also knew how to enjoy themselves and loved to travel and visit family. When Charlie became ill, Nettie took good care of him at home until he passed away on February 25, 1990. Nettie was also preceded in death by her beloved brother and sisters, Tom Giusto, Jessie Gange, and Anne Kramer. "Aunt Nettie" is survived by three generations of nieces and nephews, a large extended family, and a supportive circle of neighbors and friends.
